Then, I will be sharing the recipe of one of the loved and popular soup of India: Tomato soup recipe that is creamy and can be enjoy as jovial midday meal or light dinner.

Let’s talk about history and origin behind the Tomato soup

In Spanish, it is also known as Gazpacho. The origin of tomato soup was in the region of Andalucía in southern Spain. It is widely consumed/drink in Spanish cuisine as well as neighbouring Portugal.

Tomato soup is a perfect blend of spice and loaded with fresh cream, bit of sweetness and sourness that make the soup luscious, mouth watering and delicious one and topped with croutons or serve on the side.

I am Sharing the recipe of Restaurant style Tomato Soup as step by step and what are ingredients that is needed to make one of the most delicious Tomato Soup.

What are Ingredients that are to needed to make delicious Tomato Soup?

  • Oil
  • 5-8 Tomato, roughly chopped
  • Red chilli powder
  • Turmeric powder
  • 1-2 Garlic clove
  • Ginger
  • Black Peppercorns
  • Cardamom seeds
  • Salt to taste
  • water as required (fill till the tomato gets cover in water & don't overload)
  • Oil & butter
  • 2-3 small onion, chopped
  • Coriander stem
  • Sugar

For Croutons

  • Oil
  • Butter
  • Bread Slice - cut into chunks

For those, who are trying first time cooking just follow my simple yet tasty recipe to make restaurant style tomato soup at home. You are just few steps and 30 – 40 minutes away to enjoy creamiest, tangy and smoothest homemade tomato soup.

Preparations of Tomato Soup:

  • First of all, take 6-8 fresh tomato and roughly chopped them in any shape. Then, in pressure cooker add 2 tbsp oil and chopped tomato and sauté for around one to two minutes.
  • Now, add 1 to one and half tsp of red chilli powder (Kashmiri). 
  • Then, add ½ tsp of turmeric powder (Haldi).
  • Add ½ piece of ginger that may be around 2-3 inch.
  • Add 1-2 garlic clove
  • Add 5-7 black peppercorns
  • Add 2-3 cardamom seeds
  • Add salt to taste
  • Finally, add water in pressure cooker till the level of tomato gets cover in water
  • Close the lid of the pressure cooker and give it 4-5 whistle until the tomato gets cooked and become juicy
  • Take, another kadhai add 3-4 tbsp butter and 2 tbsp of oil and heat the kadhai
  • Add 2-3 chopped onion and sauté until translucent
  • Add cooked tomato mixture which was prepared in pressure cooker and cook the mixture of tomato and onion for another 8-10 minutes till all flavours of onion and butter gets perfectly mix in tomato mixture
  • Turn off the gas and remove the kadhai from gas burner and add coriander stem and finally, blend the mixture with the help of hand blender in fine puree and strain it well with the help of strainer
  • Now, take the fine puree and pour into the kadhai and boil it around 15-20 minutes
  • Finally, add sugar and fine-tune the salt as per your taste buds and give it a proper mix. 

Preparations of Croutons

  • Remove the sides of the bread and cut the bread chunks
  • Heat a pan and add 2-3 tbsp of butter and 1 tbsp of oil so that butter doesn’t overcooked or burnt
  • Add, bread chunks into the pan and fry them until golden brown on both side and till they become crispy.

Now, your croutons as well tomato soup is ready. Serve your hot tomato soup into bowl and topped with fresh cream and add croutons and garnished with coriander leaves and your delicious restaurant style tomato soup is ready to drink.
