The story of Zomato, Food the main source that Human and animals eat to survive. It is also the main source of getting nutrition for healthy body. Many people who crave for food and to taste variety of cuisines that are available in world. The technology has been advancing up and lots of innovations and creation are been done and one of among them is food delivery app development. As, every person is very busy in their own schedules. How it all started?

It was all started with the people who have perfect understanding of trends related to foods. The founders were Deepinder Goyal and Pankaj Chaddah. Both are IIT Delhi graduates and were working for the consulting firm Bain and Company. It was all started in their offices, when they find people are waiting in a long queue for just to acquire a menu card. This thing created an impact on both of them and this is when the idea of obtaining solutions of this problem were generated in their mind. And that’s how they created a ‘Foodiebay’.

When they created Foodiebay. They are just uploading the soft copy of menu cards on websites. Everyone in their office were using their website for menu card of food and that conserved much of their time. Slowly and gradually the traffic has been increasing on their website. Later, soon they expanded their website to publicly. 

Foodiebay was initially started in Delhi. Later, the service was extended to other cities. As, they are extended Foodiebay to other cities. The number of customers using their website was continuously growing and it was great success for them. The foodiebay has acquired a great popularity. It creates great opportunity to the founder of Foodiebay to scale up the project at international level. As, they were planning to scale up their project they modified Foodiebay as ‘ZOMATO’ to make it more delightful and also to eliminate confusion from eBay website. In 2010, they Renamed the Foodiebay as Zomato.

The funding was main point for Zomato. As the, usage of Zomato has given the tremendous response to the founder. They decided to simplify the access of the application to users. Then a mobile app was developed to benefit people and make easy access to the users. However, to develop above all discussed things they need more funds. Between 2010 and 2013 around they received their biggest funding from ‘Info Edge India’.

As funding started picking up the pace in 2010, the Zomato started expanding to other cities like Pune, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad and Ahmedabad. They had launched their apps for smartphone which gave a great response by users. By 2012, overseas operation of Zomato started operating in full enthusiastic with UAE, Qatar, Sri-Lanka, United Kingdom, Philippines and South Africa becoming the parts of its users. Later, they have added more countries in their list.

On initials days, when they launched the Zomato there were many ups and downs in their Business. But later, slowly it is operating about in 23 Countries.
